The life and work of Swedish playwright and author August Strindberg will be celebrated around the world in 2012, the centennial of his death.  During the festival, Strindberg’s plays will be performed for new audiences.  Fresh translations and less known works will be presented.  There will be discussions of Strindberg’s impact on the development of the theatre, modern and contemporary literature and culture, and what his work means to today’s audiences.

The purpose of this site and blog is to connect people who are participating or simply wish to find out what’s going on.  We will list as many events in the United States as we know about and will link with information sources in Sweden and other countries.
